This beer is the fifth in our Conservation Brew series, a project developed as part of our longstanding collaboration with the Wilder Institute. This year, our focus is on the Mountain Bongo, a rare, forest-dwelling antelope found only in isolated, high-altitude forests in Kenya. The Wilder Institute’s program aims not only to stabilize and grow the Bongo population in the Ragati-Chehe forests, but also to conserve the mountain ecosystems they call home. This project involves time, trust, and a deep rooted care for protecting animals and the planet we share.

Quantity
Protecting wild places. A portion of every can goes toward protecting wildlife and the habitats they depend on.
Since 2021, we’ve been making small-batch Conservation Brews in partnership with the Wilder Institute. Each brew features a key species that the Wilder Institute supports, with labels designed by a local artist. Thousands of cans have carried stories of different endangered species into Calgary’s restaurants, liquor stores, and homes.
Artwork by Abi Osness. Abi is an illustrator and self-proclaimed bug enthusiast whose work is deeply inspired by Alberta’s wildlife and biodiversity. Through whimsical traditional and digital illustrations, Abi hopes to inspire others to learn about, appreciate, and care for the environment.
It’s crisp, crushable, but still unique. The hop character is obvious, but not bitter, showcasing some gentle tropical fruit and a smooth spicy floral note. Overall, the beer will be light on the pallet but full of nuance.
Hops: Australian Ella, Topaz.
Malt: Red Shed Biscuit, Carafoam
