Andrew Bullied and Erica O’Gorman were already part of Calgary’s hospitality scene, working in the small businesses shaping the city’s beer and food culture. They wanted to create a place that sparked curiosity about beer, our city and each other; brought people together for real conversation; and made beer culture feel like it was for everyone.

Annex is a craft brewery making beer, soda, and whatever else earns a place in your fridge. Technically driven, constantly evolving, never precious. We care about the process, but we’re not bound by it. Everything is open to iteration. No shortcuts, no compromises. No gods, no masters.
It started with Soda
While waiting (im)patiently for our brewery license in 2016, we began crafting our award winning root beer. We wanted to prove that soda could be special again by using whole ingredients, nostalgic recipes, and uncompromising methods.
